Born on 17 July 1996, in Changwon, located in Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea. Wonwoo grew up in a quiet and modest environment and is known to have a younger brother.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Wonwoo attended Puyang Middle School before transferring to Hanlim Multi Art School, one of Korea’s top arts high schools, which he graduated from in 2015. He studied in the Department of Practical Dance.
CAREER
Wonwoo officially debuted on May 26, 2015, as a member of the 13-member K-pop group SEVENTEEN, under Pledis Entertainment (a subsidiary of HYBE Labels). Within SEVENTEEN, he is part of the Hip-Hop Unit and is known for his deep voice, poetic lyrics, and charismatic stage presence.
He has contributed to the writing of numerous SEVENTEEN songs and also took part in directing and producing some of the group’s content. In 2021, he and fellow member Mingyu released a successful digital single titled “Bittersweet” featuring singer Lee Hi, which topped iTunes charts globally.
