Career
Lamido began his political journey with the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) during the Second Republic and was elected to the House of Representatives for Birnin Kudu in 1979. In 2025 he also stirred controversy when he openly accused President Bola Tinubu of not being part of the original pro-democracy struggle following the annulled June 12, 1993, elections. He also criticized the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), claiming most of its members, including Tinubu, only joined the movement after the heat of the moment had passed.
