Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embaló, born on 23 September 1972 in Bissau, is a politician and military officer who has been the president of Guinea-Bissau since February 2020. Before becoming president, he served as the country’s prime minister from November 2016 to January 2018.

Educational Background
Embaló studied international relations at the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences, Technical University of Lisbon. He later earned a master’s degree in political science and a doctorate in international relations from the Complutense University of Madrid. Career
