Biography of Jika Dauda Haliru

Jika Dauda Haliru is a Nigerian businessman Engineer, politician and Senator representing the Darazo/Gunjuwa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State in the Federal House of Representatives. Dauda Jika was born in 1976 in Bauchi State.

Educational Background

Haliru obtained his West African School Certificate from Sardauna Memorial College Kaduna 1999. He then got admission into the Kaduna Polytechnic, obtaining National Diploma in Engineering in the year 2003.

Career

In 2007, Haliru was elected into the Bauchi State House of Assembly. In 2011 he was re elected for a second term in office. During his second term in office he ran and was elected the speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly. While in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, he has also held strategic positions like chairman selection/establishment committee; chairman transition committee for works and rural development; coordinating chairman national youth vanguard etc.

In 2014, Haliru picked up nomination form to represent Darazo/Gunjuwa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State in the Federal House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC). He was elected into office in the 2015 gubernatorial election.

In 2018, Haliru picked up nomination form to represent Bauchi Central in the Nigerian Senate under the All Progressive Congress (APC). He won the 2019 gubernatorial election to be elected as a senator.
