Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe was the first elected president of Nigeria while Alhaji Tafawa Balewa was the first Prime Minister.
Olusegun Obasanjo and Mohammadu Buhari are the two Nigerian leaders who ruled both as military Head of State and Civilian President.
The Office of the President of Nigeria is the Head of State and Head of Government in Nigeria. It’s a two four-year term. To be eligible to run for President, you must be;
- A Nigerian citizen by birth
- Must be upto 35 years of age
- Must be a member of a political party
- Must be sponsored by a political party
- Must be educated upto Secondary School Certificate level.
