The world population have been on the spike in the last few decades and Africa is not left out. Africa is the second most populated continent in the world with a population of about 1.3 billion in 2019. The African population have doubled in the last twenty seven years. Nigeria is the most populated country in Africa. Here is a list of top 10 most populated countries in Africa

1. Nigeria (206 million)

Nigeria is located in the western region of Africa. It is a multi tribal country with about 520 different languages spoken in the country. Nigeria population is over 206 million with life expectancy of 54.7 for men and 55.7 for women

2. Ethiopia (114 million)

Ethiopia is located in the eastern region of Africa. It is an ethnically diverse country with about 100 languages. Ethiopia has a population of over 114 million with life expectancy of 60.1 years for men and 65.1 years for women

3. Egypt (102 million)

Egypt is located in the northern region of Africa. Egypt is predominantly Muslims with Arabic as it’s official language. Egypt has a population of over 102 million with life expectancy of 71.2 years for men and 74 years for women.

4. DR Congo (89 million)

The Democratic Republic of Congo is located in the Central African region. It is the second largest country in Africa and one of the most populated countries in Africa with a population of over 89 million. The life expectancy of Congolese is 56.1 years for men and 59.3 years for women.

5. Tanzania (59.7million)
