|While being overweight can result to health challenges, on the other hand, being underweight sometimes could result to low self esteem and in extreme cases, depression especially when this is as a result of poor nutrition or ailment. 1. Eat frequently:
As against the normal thrice a day meal, to add weight faster, eat smaller portions of food but frequently. Sometimes, this may require that you eat about six times in a day. This will help you add weight faster.
2. Eat balanced meals:
It is not enough to say you’re eating or the number of times you choose to eat, you must endeavor to eat foods that are high in nutrients especially protein. High-protein foods include meats, fish, eggs, dairy products, legumes, nuts and others. You should also eat plenty of high-carb and high-fat foods.
3. Don’t drink water before meals:
This can fill your stomach and make it harder to get in enough calories. Also, except when necessary, don’t take in water while eating as it can make you fill full.
4. Mini meals:
You can call this snacks. To gain more weight, try out healthy snacks that are nutritious and replace soft drinks with fruit and vegetable shakes or smoothies.
5. Exercise:
This is necessary to gain weight. However, you must concentrate on exercises that help you gain weight such as weight lifting exercise instead of cardio exercises that on the other hand burns off calories and ensure weight loss.
6. Rest:
To gain weight, you should try to rest regularly. Sleep for about 8hours every night and take on day time rest.
7. Quit weight loss habits:
If you are trying to gain weight, it is pertinent that you do not continue habits that can result to weight loss or prevent weight gain. Habits such as smoking and starving could result to weight loss.
