Muhammadu Wabi III worked with native authority before joining the the Ministry of Agriculture to work as a livestock officer in 1962.

He was the Chief scribe clerk to the Jama’are Emirate Council from 1964 to 1970 and a member of the defunct Northern Peoples Congress (NPC).

Muhammadu Wabi III was appointed Emir of Jama’are on November 19th, 1970 and crowned the Emir of Jama’are in Bauchi State on May 11, 1971 after the death of his father Muhammadu Wabi II. He has served as the Emir of Jama’are for over 50 years.
