Riky Rick started his career as a musician at a young age. He used to have a studio session with Bongani Fassie and was inspired to record his hit single Makhado in 2014.

Riky Rick released his debut single “Barbershop” featuring Da L.E.S. He later released Amantombazane” which was followed by “Amantombazane (Remix)”. The remix featured fellow South African recording artists OkMalumkoolKat, Maggz, Kwesta, Ginger Bread Man, Kid X, Nadia Nakai and DJ Dimplez

He gained popularity after he released “Nafukwa” in 2014.

In 2015, Riky Rick released his debut album Family Values. became certified platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) with over 50,000 unit sales.

In October 2016, Riky Rick released his hit single “Sondela”, featuring Zano. The single peaked at number 3 on the SA Hip Hop Top Ten List.
