Chukwuemeka Ezeife (20 November 1937 – 14 December 2023) was a Nigerian politician who served as the governor of Anambra State from January 1992 to November 1993 during the Nigerian Third Republic. Born in Igbo-Ukwu, Anambra State, he pursued a self-taught education, eventually earning a BSc in Economics from the University College Ibadan and a master’s and PhD degree from Harvard University. Ezeife held various roles, including School Headmaster, lecturer, Teaching Fellow at Harvard, and Permanent Secretary in the civil service.

Educational Background

Career

Chukwuemeka Ezeife’s diverse career included roles such as a School Headmaster, lecturer at Makarare University College in Kampala, Uganda, Teaching Fellow at Harvard University, and a Consultant with Arthur D. Little in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He later joined the civil service, rising to the position of Permanent Secretary.

His political career saw him elected as the governor of Anambra State on the Social Democratic Party (SDP) platform, serving from January 1992 to November 1993.
