2019 Ballon d’Or: Nominees and Winner

Ballon d’Or is the most prestigious football award in football. Ballon d’Or award honors male footballers deemed to have out performed other footballers in the previous year. It’s an annual football presentation by French football. Ballon d’Or is a French word which means Golden ball.

Ballon d’Or award was first hosted in 1956 but was referred to as European Award. It adopted the name Ballon d’Or in 1995 after its rules were adjusted to accommodate players from other continents.
