Corona Virus: Is it necessary to wear face masks while driving?

With the outbreak of Covid-19 around the world including in Nigeria, a lot of people have taken measures to ensure that they and their loved ones are safe during this pandemic. One of the measures taken is wearing of face masks while driving. Some questions like do I need to wear nose mask while driving or is face mask necessary while driving?

According to the French Ministry of Solidarity and Health, wearing of face mask limits the projection of germs such as bacteria, fungi and virus in the person wearing the face mask but not protect the user from being infected.

Since Corona virus is transmitted from droplets of infected person, there is no need for face masks while driving alone in your car because you are barely coming in contact with people. Face mask is more useful if you are coming in contact with people.

However, if your vehicle is for commercial purposes, then wearing of face mask is very important not just for the driver but also for the passengers.

If you are sick, you have to wear your nose masks so as not to contaminate your vehicle. Research have shown that Corona virus lasts for several days in the interior of a car.

It is also advisable to wear face mask if the government made wearing of face mask compulsory for everybody.
