Who is Pondei?
Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei is a Nigerian medical doctor, professor and Acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Pondei was born in Bayelsa State in the South South region of Nigeria. The date of birth of Pondei is unknown.
Educational Background
Kemebradikumo Pondei attended Federal Government College, Port Harcourt where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE).
He proceeded to University of Lagos, where he studied Medicine and Surgery.
Pondei obtained his doctorate degree in medical microbiology from the University of Nottingham.

Career
Kemebradikumo Pondei started his career as a lecturer at the Niger Delta University(NDU) in 2001. During his stay at the Niger Delta University, Pondei served in different capacities such as
- Acting Head of Department, medical microbiology and parasitology department
- Acting Dean, faculty of basic medical sciences at College of Health Sciences
- Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association, Bayelsa State
- Provost, College of Health Sciences, Niger Delta University
Pondei was appointed a professor of Medical Microbiology later in his career.
In February 2020, President Buhari approved the appointment of Pondei as the acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) after Joy Nunieh was removed from office over certificate scandal.

Controversies
In July 2020, President Buhari ordered an audit into the financial activities of the NDDC. Pondei while being probed by the House of Representatives for allegedly misappropriating N81.5 billion between October 2019 and May 2020 fainted while being questioned.
