Educational Background
Yinka Davies attended Reagan Memorial Baptist Primary school, Onike Yaba where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate. She proceeded to Our Lady of Apostles Secondary school, Yaba where he obtained her SSCE certificate.
Career
Yinka Davies is a painter and sculptor. Her career as an artist was inspired in 1987 when she visited the National Theatre in Lagos to explore becoming a visual artist.
She was commissioned to paint the stage for a production of Marriage of Anansewa by Efua Sutherland by the Theatre Director late Bassey Effiong.
Musical Career
Yinka Davies grew up listening to Sam Cooke, Johnny Cash, Elvis and Jimmy Dean.
In 1992, she was nominated for the Upcoming artist award the Fame Music Award after she was spotted as an all round artist
She was involved in the production of the suburban album of renaissance artist Lagbaja. The Album was titled Side by Side and produced by Bread and Butter Jazz club in 1993.

Yinka Davies concentrated on music. She collaborated with Mike Okri (RnB), Shina Peters (Afro juju), Blackky (Reggae) among others. She worked with international artists like late Geraldo Pino and Etienne T Boy.
Between 1990 and 1992, Yinka Davies performed at the Alex O’s Background Vocalist.
In 1994, she had a major setback in her career after she was hit by a taxi. She underwent surgery which affected her ability to dance.
Since 1995, she has been performing at the World Music Day Organised by Alliance Francaise.
She performed at the Carl Raccah’s Emi Nlo Album Listening in 2000 and the Jazzville 7th Anniversary concert under direction of Elder Steve Rhodes.

In 1989, Yinka Davies featured in San Loco Efe’s movie Wind vs Polygamy.
Yinka Davies featured in Kakaki Concert, Death and The King’s Horseman and Greener Grass in 1990.
She acted in Mekunu Melody and Irara Alagbe both directed by Felix Okolo in 1992.
In 1993, she featured in Area Boy by Felix Okolo.

Personal life
Yinka Davies has two sons. However, in February 2021, Yinka Davies lost her first son Jeremiah at the age of 27.
