Educational Background
Ogbonnaya Orji attended Presbyterian School, Amanator Isu, Ohaozara and Ishiagu High School Okigwe.
He obtained a National Diploma(HND) in Mass Communication from Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu and a degree in public administration from University of Abuja.
Orji Ogbonnaya Orji obtained a Master Degree and PhD political economy and development studies from University of Abuja in 2004 and 2012 respectively.
He attended Harvard Kennedy School where he became a Senior Executive fellow program on communication and public policy.

Career
Ogbonnaya Orji started his career as a journalist at Radio Nigeria. At Radio Nigeria, he worked in various capacities including posting to the presidential villa in Asia Rock.
He rose in rank to become the Deputy Director at the Radio Nigeria headquarters
Ogbonnaya Orji was a columnist and a member of the Editorial Board of Aro News.
Orji Ogbonnaya Orji was the Special Adviser to the President of the Senate at the National Assembly.
In 2004, he worked as national consultant on public procurement reforms at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
In 2007, he headed the media and public affairs department of the Bureau of Public Procurement
Orji Ogbonnaya Orji worked as the Special Assistant to the Minster of information between 2009 and 2010.
He was appointed the Director of communications at Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) in 2010.
