Bishop Makamu started his evangelical career while still in secondary school. Then he would preach to his fellow students and was nicknamed Bishop.
Bishop Makamu launched his reality tv show “I Am Bishop I Makamu “ in July 2019 at Moja love. The reality tv show is centered around his lifestyle, his family and his church.

Sex Scandal
In May 2021, Bishop Makamu was accused of soliciting for sex from a member of his congregation after a recording went viral. According to the recording, Makamu was alleged to have demanded for sex with one his congregation.
However, reacting to the recordings, Baishop Makamu said the recording was from 2017. He added that the conversation with the lady wasn’t sexual and that she only wanted to extort money from him.
Covid-19
In July 2020, Bishop Makamu tested positive to Covid-19. He was isolated for 16 days before he fully recovered from the virus.
