Educational Background
Major General Farouk Yahaya joined the Nigerian Defence Academy on 27 September 1985 and was commissioned into the Nigerian Army Infantry Corps on 22 September 1990. He is an alumnus of University of Salford, Manchester, England.
Career
Major General Farouk Yahaya was a commander of the Division 1 of the Nigerian Army.
He joined the Nigerian Army as a a member of 37 Regular Course of the Nigerian Defense Academy Kaduna.
He was the Theatre Commander of the Counter Terrorism Counter Insurgency military involved in the fight against Boko Haram terrorist group in the North Eastern region of Nigeria with the code name Operation HADIN KAI.
He served as the commander of the 4 Brigade Headquarters of the Nigerian Army in Edo State.
