Educational Background
Uzoma Emenike obtained a Bachelors degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University Of Maiduguri. She also holds a degree in law from the University of Reading in the U.K.

Dr. Emenike has a Masters degree in International Law and Diplomacy, and International Management from the University of Lagos and from University of Reading in the U.K respectively.
She holds a doctorate degree in International Relations from the University of Reading.
Career
Dr. Emenike started her career as a diplomat over 30 years ago. She was the Nigerian ambassador to Cote D’Ivoire from 1992 till 1998.

In 1998, she returned to the Nigeria. She worked various departments and parastatals in the Foreign Affairs ministry. Subsequently, she represented Nigeria in various bilateral and multilateral missions within and outside Nigeria.
In 2002, Emenike left the ministry to work as a management consultant.
She resumed office as the Nigerian Ambassador to Republic of Ireland in August 2017. Also she holds concurrent accreditation to Iceland.
In January 2021, Dr Emenike was appointed to replace Sylvanus Nsofor as the Nigerian Ambassador to the United States.

Dr. Uzoma Emenike is married to Chief. Ikechi Emenike. Their union is blessed with four children.
