In December 2020, First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Managing Director was hit with a paternity and sex scandal. According to reports, FCMB Managing Director/CEO Adam Nuru was alleged tot be romantically involved with his employee Moyo Thomas.

Moyo Thomas, who was married to Tunde Thomas was alleged to have had two children for Adam Nuru.

Their unsanctioned relationship came to the limelight after Tunde Thomas discovered that the two children he fathered weren’t biologically his.

Tunde Thomas died of heart attack on 16th December 2020 after he suffered stroke from the heart breaking news.

According to a post by a twitter user TD Cole, Moyo Thomas fled Nigeria for the US where she filed for an asylum.

FCMB, an organization without proper rules or governance looked the other way while the open and unprofessional romance was going on between the MD and a subordinate staff of the same organization, a married woman.

At the height of the shameful relationship and when the older child was about eight (8) years old, the lady suddenly resigned from FCMB and travelled to the US with the two children, ostensibly on holiday. It was when the school session started in Nigeria and the

children were not returned that Tunde started asking questions and the lady finally summoned the shameless courage to tell him the children were not his own.

She then went to the extent of filing for asylum in the US on the ground of marital violence in Nigeria, against a man

known to all men by his gentle and easygoing disposition. Her aim was to get the Green Card and to also get Tunde to be barred from entering the US, so she would not have to confront him to look him in the eye and tell him to his face the evil that she had done to him.

Within a few months of hearing this news, Tunde suffered a stroke at about the age of 42. He recovered from the stroke but became a shadow of his former self. He would often shed tears from the blues.

Recently, he tried to pick up the pieces of his life and started another

relationship with a lawyer lady. Tunde had invited some friends to accompany him to visit the lady’s parents on 26th December. They were planning the materials to take along for the visit but alas, it was not to be. Tunde got home from work in the night of 15th December

only to collapse by his staircase and die immediately. Autopsy report puts the cause of death as heart failure.

The wicked souls, Adam Nuru and Moyo Ojo (later Moyo Thomas) have done their worst, the death of an innocent man, and their hands are dripping with his blood.

He had worked in Oceanic Bank back in the days. He was one of the most gentle and yet, most friendly of all individuals, as many would testify of him.

He died as an Executive Director in an asset management company, GDL Asset Management Company Ltd.

FCMB probe Adam Nuru

In January 2021, FCMB suspended Adam Nuru as the MD/CEO of FCMB. FCMB started launched an investigation into the the alleged sex and paternity scandal.

FCMB appointed Yemisi Edun as the acting Managing Director pending the outcome of the probe.

Moyo Thomas Reacts to Alleged Paternity Fraud Scandal

While the FCMB paternity fraud scandal was looming, Moyo Thomas debunked claims that FCMB MD Adam Nuru is the father of her children.

She also debunked claims that she told her husband that the children weren’t his. Moyo Thomas said get marriage with Tunde Thomas faced challenges just like every other marriage.

She wrote

“Tunde is the Father of My Kids” reportedly written by Ms Thomas’s friends and published in Thisday, she explained why she decided to remain silent amid a myriad of allegations.

“On no occasion did I ever tell him he was not the father of our two children. It is, therefore, deliberate falsehood and certainly malicious to allege and insinuate that I informed him that the children are not his,’’

“The children still bear his name. Only God knows why he died in an untimely period. It is not in my place, or anyone’s place to play God and talk with certainty as to the cause of his death, without proven medical facts.

“Despite our separation, we never allowed our differences to affect the relationships we respectively have with the children. He still had conversations with the children like any father will, up until his sudden and unfortunate death. It is quite sad and disheartening to see the pictures of these innocent children splashed all over the internet with very disparaging and weird comments. I do wish his family and friends the fortitude to bear the unfortunate loss and I ask that we all be allowed to grieve his loss in peace,’’ she stated

Adam Nauru’s wife leaves him

The wife of embattled MD of FCMB Hauwa Nuru have packed out of Adam Nauru’s house.

According to reports, she might be filling for divorce citing infidelity as the reason for the divorce.

“I know she has moved out. This case is beyond Moyo or the late Tunde. His own marriage is about to crash now. The wife and her family are really giving him problems. They are ready to deal with him. The Moyo stuff is part one, he is currently facing the second part with his wife,” a family source said
