|Justice Abdul Kafarati is a Nigerian Lawyer and a former Chief Judge of the Federal High Court in Nigeria. He is popular for giving the court order proscribing Indegenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Justice Kafarati was born on 25th July 1954 in Kwami, Gombe State.

Career
Justice Abdul Kafarati was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1979.
Before his appointment as a Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, he once served as the Attorney General of Bauchi State.
In October 1991, he was appointed to Federal High Court Bench.
In October 2017, Kafarati was appointed Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court and was confirmed by the Nigerian senate in June, 2018.

Proscription of IPOB
In January 2018, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja affirmed the proscription of IPOB. Justice Kafarati while affirming the proscription designated it as a terrorist group upon an ex parte application by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN).
