Zabarmari Massacre

Zabarmari massacre also known as the Koshobe massacre was the killing of 43 rice farmers by Boko Haram terrorist group. The massacre happened on 28 November 2020 in Koshobe, Zabarmari village in Borno State. While 43 peasant farmers were killed, 6 were injured and crops worth millions were destroyed.

According to reports by various media outlets, Boko Haram terrorist invaded Koshobe Village. 43 farmers who were laborers from Sokoto state were captured by the group, tied up and their throat slit by the assailant.

Reacting to the attack, Garba Shehu, the official spokesperson of Nigerian President Mohammadu Buhari, said President Buhari expresses shock over the insane killing.

Reno Omkri, an aide to former president Buhari said killings under former president Jonathan was blamed on him. However, killings under Buhari was blamed on Service Chiefs and Governors

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said the life of Nigerian citizens is worth more than being lynched

Former presidential aspirant and entrepreneur, Adamu Garba II called for the removal of service Chiefs

Nigerian activist Aisha Yesufu in a tweet said

On the other hand many Nigerians called for the resignation of President Buhari and the service Chiefs who have failed to address the lingering issues of insecurity in the country
